CMAX

Your humble editor recently visited the MaxLite headquarters in New Jersey to meet with Umesh Baheti, Senior Vice President of Product Management. The discussion revolved around MaxLite’s latest innovations, particularly their c-Max lighting controls—a versatile and future-proof solution designed to meet the ever-evolving needs of contractors and customers.

The Evolution of c-Max Lighting Controls

Baheti shared the story behind c-Max , tracing its development from its inception during the COVID-19 pandemic to its current status as a robust suite of solutions. Originally offered in two versions, the line now features four tiers, each tailored to different customer needs.

Breaking Down the c-Max Product Line

c-Max controls now spans a range of solutions:

  • c-Max Basic: A simple, in-fixture standalone control system.
  • c-Max EASY RF: A wireless, room-based system offering network capabilities without app-based complexity.
  • c-Max Network: DLC NLC listed proprietary Bluetooth network lighting controls
  • c-Max Network Partners – Advanced Bluetooth network solutions

All these solutions focus on simplicity, flexibility, and energy efficiency with future-proof and scalable technology.

Future-Proof Design

One of the standout features is its future-proof, technology-agnostic design. Fixtures equipped with USB-C receptacles support various sensors and technologies, allowing customers to upgrade systems effortlessly as needs change. Umesh explained that they hold the patent for USB-C  receptacles and I think this is a really big deal!

MaxLite’s Dual Fixture Strategy

MaxLite also leads with an innovative dual strategy for its fixtures:

  • Value Series: Cost-effective products designed for contractors.
  • Enhanced Series: Advanced, control-ready solutions featuring premium options such as higher efficacies, premium DLC certification and extended warranties.

Recent product launches, including floodlights and retrofit kits, highlight MaxLite’s commitment to energy efficiency and customer convenience.

Scalability Meets Simplicity

Baheti emphasized that c-Max’s design prioritizes scalability and ease of use.
