BIOS Lighting has been honored with the Technical Innovation Award at LightFair 2025 in Las Vegas for its groundbreaking SkyView™ Tile, a circadian lighting innovation designed to enhance human health and well-being indoors through science-backed technology.
LightFair is a premier commercial and architectural lighting event in North America, held every two years. It is co-owned by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). The LightFair Innovation Awards honor the most innovative products showcased, celebrating advancements that are shaping the future of lighting.
SkyView Tile stood out among hundreds of entries for its ability to deliver biologically relevant, sky-blue-rich light that aligns with the body’s natural circadian rhythms. Developed from its NASA roots, SkyView™ Tile combines cutting-edge blue-sky LED spectral engineering with BIOS’s patented GCO™ (Gradient Circadian Optimization) Technology to promote mood, focus, and alertness during the day, improve sleep at night, and support long-term health outcomes.
SkyView Tile offers the highest melanopic ratio of lighting (>1 mDER) available on the market today, achieving the recommended 250 m-EDI while consuming only 0.4 W per square foot. Its easy installation and operation make it a significant advancement in improving indoor lighting quality on a global scale.
“We are truly thrilled to receive this recognition at LightFair,” said Robert Soler, BIOS lighting founder and Chief Scientific Officer. “SkyView™ was designed to provide the health benefits of natural sunlight indoors; in effect, bringing the feeling you get on a blue sky day outside into everyday environments inside,” he said. “Tile represents our continued commitment to human-centric lighting innovation, grounded in biology and built for everyday use in workplaces, healthcare, education, and beyond.”
