ams OSRAM Q3 2025 Results Highlight 9% Semiconductor Growth

ams OSRAM Q3 2025

The ams OSRAM Q3 2025 results show the company’s strategic focus paying off, with improved profitability, cost discipline, and strong semiconductor momentum. Free cash flow reached €43 million. Additionally, semiconductor growth reached 9%, showing clear progress in its core technology platforms.

Strong Quarterly Performance Driven by Core Semiconductor Business

In the ams OSRAM Q3 2025 results, the company reported €853 million in revenue with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 19.5%. Semiconductor revenues represented roughly 75% of total revenue and demonstrated healthy quarter-over-quarter gains. New sensor platforms and a seasonal uptick in horticulture and consumer applications supported these gains.

The semiconductor segment grew approximately 9%, aligning with the company’s mid-term model. Efficiency gains from the ongoing “Re-establish the Base” (RtB) program also lifted profitability. The program achieved EUR 185 million in realized run-rate savings.

Free Cash Flow Strengthens as Balance Sheet Deleveraging Progresses

A highlight of the ams OSRAM Q3 2025 results is the return to strong free cash flow. The quarter delivered €43 million, reflecting healthier operations compared to last year’s FCF. Last year’s results were influenced by a major customer prepayment. The company reiterated its full-year 2025 free cash flow outlook of over €100 million. This is assuming timely subsidies from the European Chips Act.

Deleveraging actions remain on track, including asset disposal plans expected to exceed EUR 500 million in proceeds during 2026. Upon completion, the program aims to reduce the net-debt-to-EBITDA ratio below 2 and significantly cut annual interest expenses.

Technology Investments Reinforce Market Leadership

The ams OSRAM Q3 2025 results emphasize continued investment in differentiating technologies. Key developments include:

  • A significant patent cross-license agreement with Nichia, expanding IP protection for LED and laser technologies.

  • Advances in near-infrared emitters featuring industry-leading efficiency.

  • The launch of a two-dimensional direct Time-of-Flight sensing platform enabling advanced Edge AI applications across mobile, logistics, and industrial markets.

These technology platforms position the company for long-term growth in high-value applications.

Outlook for Q4 2025

For the upcoming quarter, the company expects revenues between €790–890 million with an adjusted EBITDA margin around 17.5% ±1.5%. As is typical, semiconductor demand is set to soften seasonally following the Q3 peak. Meanwhile, the Lamps & Systems division is expected to see strong automotive aftermarket demand.
