Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education Welcomes Sandra Vasconez

The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education welcomes Sandra Vásconez to its Board of Directors, where she will bring nearly two decades of leadership in lighting education, program development, and community engagement. This appointment aligns closely with the organization’s mission and future direction.

Commitment to the Lighting Community

In addition to her teaching role, Sandra co-manages the Rocky Mountain Lighting Academy. She also oversees the Architectural Lighting graduate certificate program for lighting professionals.  These roles showcase her commitment to bridging industry and academia, fostering professional growth and strengthening the lighting community.

As a board member, Sandra will collaborate with a distinguished group of leaders dedicated to advancing the art and science of lighting education. Furthermore, her knowledge and passion will be instrumental in promoting initiatives that enhance learning opportunities for students and encourage innovation within the field.

About Sandra Vasconez

Sandra is a Teaching Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. Since joining the university in 2007, she has led the Lighting Program within the Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering Department. Additionally, her work focuses on undergraduate lighting education for Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design students. She shapes the next generation of lighting professionals.
