Submission deadline extended to September 21, 2026; sponsorship opportunities remain open, with winners announced at the Beacon Awards ceremony on October 14, 2026

September 14, 2026, NEW YORK, NY — The Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) has extended the submission deadline for the 3rd Annual Beacon Awards to September 21, giving the city’s lighting design community an extra window to submit projects and sign on as sponsors for the program that puts the city’s best lighting work and the people behind it in front of the industry.

The Beacon Awards recognize lighting design across a range of project types and building categories, along with a dedicated Product Design category for manufacturers and an ICON Award honoring Dan Blitzer, Principal of The Practical Lighting Workshop. Entrants include lighting designers, lighting consultants, architects, interior designers, and industrial designers working in or on projects within the greater New York metropolitan area. Proceeds from the program support DLFNY’s Lana Lenar Lighting Empowerment Scholarship for emerging lighting professionals.

Submissions now close September 21, 2026. Projects are judged by a panel of independent judges drawn from the lighting design and architecture community, with winners recognized at the Beacon Awards ceremony on October 14, 2026, at SONY HALL, 235 West 46th Street in New York City.
