Best Practices: FILIX Lighting Makes A Splash

EdisonReport is featuring a series of best practices in the industry. Today, we look at FILIX Lighting’s Make A Splash Campaign. Last week on two evenings, FILIX Lighting USA, with the support of their local manufacturers representative Light Abilities, hosted lighting designers from the City at their “Make A Splash“ underwater lighting workshop.

“Make a Splash“ is an interactive workshop where lighting designers get to learn more about how light behaves under water. They also learn about the most important parameters to be considered when designing swimming pool and water feature lighting. The workshop also teaches the technical possibilities and limitations of IP68 rated lighting instruments.

The best part of the workshop was when a FILIX team member jumped into the pool and performed a live mock-up with lighting instruments of different sizes and shapes, with different optics options and color temperatures.

At the two day event, FILIX Lighting USA hosted 40 lighting designers from prestigious design offices: Loop Lighting LLC, The SEED, Tillotson Design Associates, Castelli Design, Clinard Design Studio LLC, Renfro Design Group, Flux Studio Ltd, The Lighting Practice HLB Lighting Design, Buro Happold, KGM Architectural Lighting, One Lux Studio, LLC, L’Observatoire International, Focus Lighting, Lothrop Associates, LLP,  Claude R. Engle, Urban Steel Designs, Inc., ICRAVE NY, Sighte Studio, Tirschwell & Co., Inc. Architectural Lighting Design, Schwinghammer,  L Studio, and Domingo Gonzalez Associates.

“Make a Splash” in NY was a great success and super fun.

The next “Make a Splash” will be taking place on Feb 22nd in Los Angeles and will be hosted by FILIX Lighting USA supported by the local manufacturers representatives at David Silverman and Associates. In order to reserve a spot at the event, please RSVP with Niki Brice [email protected] ASAP as the number of participants is limited.
