Shares of lighting fixtures maker Acuity Brands (AYI) soared as much as 24% Thursday to a new all-time high on strong quarterly results.
The maker of Lithonia Lighting, Holophane and Gotham brands is seeing strong gains in sync with the resurgent housing market.
Adjusted earnings per share in fiscal Q1 jumped 39% to 96 cents, well ahead of estimates for 84 cents. Revenue rose 19% to $574.7 million, also topping consensus, on higher volume of units sold.
