Mr. Hunter is a former executive at Acuity Brands, specializing in the build out and management of lighting products distribution and sales channel development. In his career, Mr. Hunter has been divisional head of Sales and Marketing for three of the major lighting companies in the US, Hubbell, Genlyte and Acuity. Most recently he was VP of the Fluorescent Product Group for Acuity Brands Lighting, responsible for all aspects of the largest product group in the lighting fixture industry. With the addition of Mr. Hunter to Eden Park’s advisory board, Eden Park will broaden the awareness of microplasma lighting and to make available products for markets segments that demand flat, cost effective, efficient and environmentally responsible lighting products.

This ultra slim, flat and bright Microplasma device is intended for luminous surfaces and a multitude of specialty and short-throw lighting applications requiring uniform white light distribution. The Phoenix Microplasma Lamp’s thin profile offers a particular advantage where minimal mounting depth is available. It requires no reflective-assist technologies or bulky heat sinking and can be made in sizes ranging from 3 inch by 3 inch (7.5mm x 7.5mm) to well beyond 18 inch by 24 inch (45mm x 60mm) sizes much more cost effectively then LED lamps. Mercury Free, Efficient Lighting in a Planar Form – Microplasma lamps are mercury-free flat panel microcavity discharge devices. The technology originates from traditional plasma lighting technology, but microplasma, by virtue of its unique structure, overcome the limitations of conventional macro-scale plasmas and offers an ultrathin, lightweight, flexible, robust and long-lasting alternative. The limitations of conventional macro-scale plasmas are inherent to their structure, and can only be solved by moving to microcavity plasma technology or Microplasma for short. Microplasma lighting offers the following benefits, without compromising the advantages of standard plasma technology. Microcavity plasma technology combines a new electrode design and configuration. The electrodes are close together and allow a Mercury-free gas mixture to be used while still achieving high efficiency. Close electrode spacing permits operation at near atmospheric pressure, which allows for new thin and flat form factors that previous generation technologies could not achieve. Flat panel technology allows for high efficacy slim luminaries without the need of an external reflector to direct the light.
