Over the weekend your humble editor attended the IES SALC Winter meeting in Phoenix. Of the various meetings I attend, SALC is one of the best run. Ed Smalley of Seattle City Light is the chairman. Here is what we learned:
- Rick Kauffman conducted an informative presentaion on the Mesopic Effect of Lighting. I have participated in a few of these presentations, but Rick’s talk was easy to follow. He also discussed TM-12.
- John Bono will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Conference.
- Conference to be held 8-11 SEP 2013 at the Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel and will be perfect for the SALC. You’ll want to make your reservations early.
- We saw a preliminary agenda and a spectacular conference is planned. I attended the meeting as a member, not as a reporter, so I cannot discuss what the committee is working on until it is public. The agenda should be firmed up within the next month or two.
