Big Ass Fans is currently looking for an AE Specialist to cover our Northeastern territory, mainly in the Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey Areas. A successful candidate for the A/E Specialist position is a hands-on professional with experience in managing relationships with architects and engineers. Selected candidates will initially spend time in Lexington, Kentucky for training and then be located in target areas within the U.S.
Expected Results:
- Increase design opportunities by working intrinsically with designers within given geographic footprint.
- Increase revenue growth in the bid/spec division.
- Be an active participant in major industry organizations such as but not limited to ASRAE, AIA and USGBC.
Responsibilities of the position:
- Identify key decision makers at each firm.
- Uncover potential projects at A/E firms where Big Ass Fans can be utilized in the design.
- Understand and communicate to BAF the different types of markets that these A/E firms handle and do business in.
- Full understanding of all Big Ass Fans product lines, and more importantly; all of the applications where our fans can be used in different industries/markets.
- Understand the fan benefits that interest architects and mechanical engineers as it pertains to their designs and company goal.
- Face to face meetings with customer to introduce new and existing products.
- Conduct lunch presentations to review fan products and also formal AIA registered presentation.
- Cold calling on architect and engineering firms.
- Follow up appointments to check on new projects.
- Follow up to present new products from BAF.
- Involvement in local industry organizations and attend industry trade shows.
- Work with multiple groups and people from headquarters (Project consultants, strategic account manager, and regional sales reps) when customers have designs or technical questions.
- Communication with entire A/E Group from Big Ass Fans.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with architect and engineering design firms within assigned territory.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 4 year degree from accredited University (Mechanical Engineering or Business preferred)
- Self-starter and proactive
- Experience in working with salesforce.com
- Experience in architect/engineering/construction industry/sales is a plus
- General understanding of the construction and design community process
- Familiarity with local territory
- Travel 75% of working time within assigned region
- Excellent presentations skills – small to larger groups and in in presenting self and company
- Strong organizational and time management skills (Tracking and reporting results)
- Professional appearance and communication skills a must
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and CRM type database tools
