Cooper Lighting is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our talented Product Marketing team and grow our innovative lighting product portfolios. As the Product Manager you will develop and manage multi-generational product line strategies (MPGG) and act as the general manager for all activities associated with that product line.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Developing MGPP Strategies by analyzing the competitive position of the product offerings and directing the investment to achieve best in class cost and feature position for product lines under management.
- Utilizing effective VOC initiatives providing market, competitive and customer intelligence to the global sales and marketing teams in support of long-term strategy and tactical plans.
- Responsible for driving demand creation in conjunction with the commercial teams globally.
- Key metrics include product line sales, margin, new product sales and margin, innovation (LED and Controls) penetration, cash/inventory, and capability/leadership development.
- Directing generational evolution and cost-out activities in line with continuous process improvement activities.
- Striving to meet and exceed new product introduction (NPI) vitality goals through driving product development by utilizing the DMEDI process.
- Collaborating as a key member of a cross functional team, developing new products in line with product technology roadmaps to achieve cost targets, revenue and profitability expectations.
- Working in harmony with the operational team driving decisions on manufacturing site location, capacity expansion and other critical metrics (quality, delivery, etc.).
Job Requirements:
If YOU are the right candidate for the job, YOU:
- Will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years product management experience in the Lighting industry.
- Will also possess at least 2 years of technical experience as well as experience with a formal new product development process (Six-Sigma, DMEDI, etc.)
- Must be a self-starter and ability to think independently and work with little supervision.
- Must be able to provide demonstrated success in leading projects from concept through implementation working with cross-functional teams.
