We are a customer driven company and the individual who joins this team will need to put the customer first.
Our engineering department is growing. We have an immediate opening for a talented, self-motivated individual to support multiple departments with drafting/designing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings for customer approval
- Support designers, project engineers and customer service
- Create drawings and models in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
- Create new B.O.M.’s in our MRP system
- Possible opportunity to progress into luminaire design
Requirements:
- Detail oriented and have an eye for quality and accuracy
- Ability to read drawings, construction plans and schematics
- Easily adapts to changing/evolving priorities and strategies with the ability to maintain a high level of flexibility.
- Take initiative and have a sense of urgency
- Enjoy a creative, as well as technical, atmosphere
- Ability to self-motivate and self-manage
- Multi-tasking is standard
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently within deadlines
- Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machined metal parts
- Experience with Photopia or ray trace software is a plus
Qualifications
- General knowledge of drafting standards
- Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar position
- Knowledge of/experience in the lighting industry is a definite plus
- A college degree is preferred but we will accept someone with good experience and/or some equivalent education
- General knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of and experience with product configurators is a definite plus
