LIA Welcomes Dave Ribbons as President

 

At the LIA’s Annual Luncheon in May, Peter Scott from Fern-Howard handed over his tenure as President of the LIA Council of Management to Dave Ribbons of Lutron EA Ltd

Dave thanked Peter for his contribution in overseeing the completion of the Lighting Industry Academy, for his contimued efforts to improve the association and for mentoring him into this role.

LIA_President_DR.jpegDave has been an integral part of Lutron EA Ltd since 2013 and as Director of Sales Europe and Africa, leads and manages a diverse sales team through Specification, OEM, Distribution and Residential CI channels. He also works with the R&D team to produce the next innovation in lighting controls.

Highly respected and well known throughout the lighting industry, Dave is seen as an accomplished and focused individual, with a passion for the industry that spans over 25 years. During which time he has experienced and influenced all areas of the industry from wholesale to manufacture. 

Dave is also a previous graduate of the now know LIA Certificate Course, so understands the quality and importance of the support and services the LIA offer its membership and wider industry.

Annually, a selection of Council Members automatically retire thus providing an opportunity for other LIA Members to get involved.

This year a record thirteen candidates were nominated for the four available seats.
The following retiring Council members were re-elected

  • Mike Barrett (GE) representing luminaires
  • Alasdair McRury (Holophane) representing luminaires
  • Simon Lilley (S Lilley and Son) representing components

Joining the Council this year, representing luminaires, is newly elected James McKenzie of PhotonStar LED.
