Learn How To Sell Retrofits With Energy Savings at NAILD Innovation 2018

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. — Feb. 2, 2018 –Lighting distributors will learn how to turn energy savings into a new stream of revenue from lighting as a service (LaaS) at the National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors’ (NAILD) Innovation 2018 on Feb. 13-16 in Rancho Mirage, California.

Iain Campbell, managing director of the Rocky Mountain Institute will present an educational session, Lumens as a Service, at NAILD’s annual conference, “Unlock the Future of Lighting,” which will be held at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa. Register by clicking here or by calling 609-297-2216.

The Rocky Mountain Institute is dedicated to transforming global energy use to create a clean, prosperous and secure low-carbon future. The nonprofit organization works with financing providers as an industry resource to help unlock the LaaS market and scale energy performance improvements in commercial buildings.

“LaaS is where our industry is heading and we all need to understand how it will work best for our clients,” NAILD President Robin Watt said. “Many businesses can’t afford the significant upfront costs of an LED lighting retrofit. LaaS allows businesses to partner with a financier to receive the retrofit upfront and pay for it monthly using a portion of the energy savings.”

Campbell’s session will be one of many educational sessions to comprise NAILD Innovation 2018. The conference offers lighting professionals top-notch educational sessions, workshops, golf and other networking opportunities, as well as a first-hand look at the most innovative lighting products on the market. NAILD will also present its second annual Forces Under 40 awards, recognizing the next generation of rising stars in the industry.

The 2018 educational sessions will include:

  • Who Moved My Light Bulb: Adapting Your Business for the Future, Paul Hafner, creator of NAILD’s signature lighting specialist program, with panelists
  • Light and Health: What We Know, What We Don’t Know and What We Need to Know, Mariana Figueiro, Lighting Research Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
