PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.–(Read more.)–In addition to serving as the state capitol of Texas, Austin is home to the University of Texas and boasts a vibrant live music and arts scene. Over the past few decades, the city has emerged as a center for technology and business with several Fortune 500 companies choosing to take up residency within the city limits. Although the city has undergone many positive changes over the past years, the street lighting fixtures were in need of some attention. To provide a stylish and energy-efficient upgrade, the city is performing a major renovation of nearly 35,000 outdated high pressure sodium (H.P.S.) fixtures. By installing new energy-efficient Streetworks Navion™ LED Roadway Luminaires from Cooper Lighting, the upgrade will help the city realize a yearly energy savings of more than $200,000.
