COVID-19 Comments: Amerlux

From: Bill Plageman, Amerlux’s VP of Marketing and Product Development

“All of us at Amerlux are upholding our civic responsibility to protect our communities, customers and employees by working from home. We’ve employed innovative ways to ensure there are no delays or missed shipments, and that our production capabilities and supply chain remain strong.

And it’s worked well.

But as all our industry colleagues can attest to, it’s also been quite a struggle—not just professionally, but more emotionally. We see what’s going on out there. We get it.

Our daily work battles pale in comparison to what’s happening inside medical facilities and field hospitals worldwide. There, health care workers are fighting this war not hunkered down at home but in harm’s way. Reality hits hard when we turn on the news and see that the only change in a day has been an increase in illnesses and deaths.

The sacrifice of these workers—plus other emergency personnel, deliverymen, truck drivers and those stocking store shelves, to name a few—is awe-inspiring in the face of such tremendous loss. It’s true: They really are our heroes.

Their resolve has not waned during these historically challenging times. Neither will ours. We’re in this together.”

Re-thinking the work day in a home office.
