Director of Operations

Position Summary: This position ensures that the corporation is operating at maximum efficiency, and is responsible for the direction and coordination of the organization. Duties include streamlining and improving business processes, spearheading long-term business planning, and analyzing the effectiveness of existing business functions. The Director of Operations fulfills multiple roles and is involved in overseeing multiple departments in order to facilitate and sustain the growth of the corporation.


• Manage day to day operations for multiple USA and UK locations
• Oversee employee productivity
• Identify bottlenecks and propose new methods of efficiency
• Propose processes to streamline operations
• Coordinate activities with key vendors
• Participate in development of key business goals
• Design business strategy to improve overall operational efficiency
• Support and enhance corporate culture
• Drive company goals and culture down through the organization
• Ensure attraction, development and retention of Top Performers and/or Developing Performers
• Enhance Lean Culture
• Participate in developing budgets and forecasts
• Oversee Corporate Inventory, Logistics, Sourcing and Bill of Material creation
• Approve expenditures for supplies, materials, product, production, etc.
• Establish work requirements to ensure production schedules are met
• Oversee order routing and shipping between all USA locations
• Involvement in new product purchasing, technical support and warranty
• Oversee customer service
• Perform corporate and employee evaluations



• Specific knowledge of the Lighting and Electrical Industry (5-10 years experience)
• At least 5 years of operational management within a multi-faceted organization
• Understanding of lighting and electrical products
• Understanding of various market sectors and customer types
• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills and the ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• High level communication and leadership skills
• SAGE ERP MAS 200, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint

Work Environment:

• This position works full time in the QSSI Corporate Office in Tampa, FL.
• Travel to various USA locations is required to ensure operational excellence.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• The Director of Operations is responsible for supervising Operations Managers in all locations, Production/Shipping/Warehousing in all locations, Logistics, IT and Customer Service.
• Travel to various USA locations is required to ensure operational excellence.

This position requires high level organizational skills to coordinate all aspects of operational management. The Director of Operations must be able to work accurately with great attention to detail. They must also be a good communicator, working with all departments of the corporation.

The Director of Operations should be self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work strategically and collaboratively.
