SCI Hosts a Spectacular Display of Light with “Cirque Du Luminaire”

Irvine, California – June 12, 2019 marked the first SCI Lights Show, themed “Cirque Du Luminaire.” With more than 20 of their key manufacturers, SCI hosted an evening of spectacular displays of light, fine spirits, gourmet bites, and live music, that was attended by more than 300 lighting professionals from all over the Southern California region. The idea behind the event was to host something outside of an ordinary tradeshow, while still providing customers with beautiful product displays of interior lighting solutions, exterior lighting solutions, and controls & connected solutions.

“The Cirque Du Luminaire was by far one of the most unique and well attended events we have put on as a company. The attendance by our clients and customers along with our Manufacturer Partners was well beyond our expectations. The overall event was an incredible success for SCI and our market,” stated Tom Thomson, President of SCI.

“SCI hosted such a beautiful evening that it felt like old friends and colleagues catching up over a few libations and luminaires. I’m already counting down the days until the next one,” noted Kate DeBellis of EcoSense Lighting & Lumium by EcoSense Lighting.

In addition to providing a remarkable event for customers, it was important that SCI’s manufacturers find value in participating, and ensure they’d be able to connect and develop relationships with many faces of the Southern California lighting community.

“What an outstanding lighting show put on by SCI. The space was fantastic, the booths looked great, informative seminars and the turnout by the local lighting community defied all expectations! Eaton was proud to be included in such a fantastic event,” stated Mike Donovan of EATON Lighting. “As a major vendor of SCI’s, we’re thrilled to have been part of this fantastic event. More like an intimate gathering…with 400 of your closest friends than a trade show. Positive feedback from everyone with whom I spoke,” added Jeff Coffaro of EATON Lighting. “We enjoyed networking with our customers at the Cirque Du Luminaire Event which was well attended by a diverse customer base. It appears the attendees had a great time and said “a must attend in the future,”” noted Doug Crumlich of EATON Lighting.

Another factor that was strongly taken into consideration when planning and executing this event, was the entertainment and attention detail. From the custom SCI ice cubes, to the stilt walker and strolling magician, SCI felt it was imperative to leave an impact on the attendees, to ensure everyone would be excited and even more intrigued about the next event. This was to be an evening to remember.

“As with everything SCI does, the event was perfectly executed and a classy affair. The turnout was a testament to the relationships they’ve built within the lighting community. We’re proud to call them partners. Now if only we can get Thomson up on those stilts,” mentioned Darin McLean of Focal Point.

With the first SCI Lights Show in the books, everyone is already eager to know when the next one will be. While the timing has yet to be determined, SCI looks forward to hosting another incredible evening full of even more surprises, and of course, beautiful displays of light.
