Richard J. Crossland, a veteran executive of the lighting industry, has joined the leadership team of Supply Chain Edge, a consulting and advisory services firm with operations in Cleveland and Raleigh, NC.
“Dick has been a success wherever he’s gone in his career, and has the deep manufacturing knowledge and leadership skills that are a great fit for our business”
In his capacity as senior vice president of manufacturing and operations, Crossland is responsible for spearheading Supply Chain Edge’s business development efforts among midsize and large manufacturing companies.
Crossland brings to Supply Chain Edge 40 years of manufacturing and operations experience, as well as an extensive background as an operating executive in leading businesses within companies such as General Electric, Philips Electronics, and ITT. He has extensive experience in metals, materials and component manufacturing—most significantly in the lighting industry—and has led turnarounds, performance improvement initiatives and acquisition integrations that have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars cost savings and synergies. He co-founded and headed, as CEO, the third-party logistics firm Integrated Global Logistics prior to joining Supply Chain Edge.
“I’m very excited about joining such a professional and experienced team as Supply Chain Edge,” said Crossland. “Built and staffed by people who have both been in the trenches and have served as operating executives, SCE is unique among consulting and advisory organizations. They do great work and get great results for their clients, and I’m looking forward to helping to introduce the firm to other companies I know can benefit from SCE’s expertise.”
Joe Brady, senior partner at Supply Chain Edge, welcomes Crossland to the Supply Chain Edge team. “Dick has been a success wherever he’s gone in his career, and has the deep manufacturing knowledge and leadership skills that are a great fit for our business,” said Brady. “His experience will be a big asset to Supply Chain Edge in our continued quest to help companies significantly improve their operating and financial performance.”
Crossland holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from the former Case Institute of Technology and an MBA in finance and marketing from the Weatherhead School of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He has taught courses in manufacturing, operations and logistics, and marketing management at the MBA level. He resides in Hudson, Ohio.
