Intense Lighting’s Luminaires to be Included in the 2012 IES Progress Report

Intense Lighting’s MBWSX2 and Impression™ Recognized by the IES Committee

(ANAHEIM, CA – November 13, 2012) – Intense Lighting, a solutions-based developer and manufacturer of top quality LED lighting fixtures is proud to announce that the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recognizes two Intense Lighting luminaires in its prestigious Progress Report for 2012. The MBWSX2 track luminaire and Impression™, a new state-of-the-art, small aperture LED downlight were chosen from more than 250 submittals.

Each year, the IES forms a committee of 30 lighting engineers whose mission is to keep in touch with developments in the art and science of lighting throughout the world and prepare a yearly report of achievements for the Society. Acceptance in the Progress Report is based on an impartial judging process used by the committee to evaluate each submission on its uniqueness, innovation and significance to the lighting industry. Winners are recognized in five different categories.

The Society announced the winners November 12 in Minneapolis, MN at a live presentation at the IES Annual Convention. Details about all the winning products can be found on the Society’s official web site at www.ies.org.  The Progress Report is also featured annually in the January issue of LD+A Magazine.

“We are very proud of this recognition by the IES and the committee,” says Kenny Eidsvold, VP of Marketing for Intense Lighting. “The competition is extremely fierce and to be honored for two fixtures validates that we are developing the kinds of products the industry wants to see and utilize.”

The winners included Intense Lighting’s MBWSX2 – a unique, dual head LED wall wash track luminaire. Each independent head is capable of delivering up to 1600 lumens. With the ability to provide illumination in two different directions, the MBWSX2 offers the ultimate in versatility. Optics for accent lighting are also available. A 3-step Macadam Ellipse tolerance is standard and ensures accuracy of color consistency while eliminating light or color variances.

Compared to a similar ceramic metal halide, the MBWXS2 consumes 25 percent less energy and offers up to 50,000 hours of operation. The fixture is ideal for illuminating retail displays, merchandise racks and graphics.

The second luminaire to be included in the 2012 IES Progress Report is Intense Lighting’s new Impression™ series. Impression is a feature enriched, small aperture downlight that offers energy efficiency with an innovative performance-driven design. It is ideal for accent lighting along with general, or wall wash lighting in a variety of applications including commercial, hospitality, retail and high-end residential. Discrete, yet powerful, Impression offers 40-degree vertical adjustment with precise center beam optics. Multiple spot and flood optics are available including an impressive 11-degree spot. With vertical and horizontal lockable aiming, hot aiming can be accomplished from below the finished ceiling. Both round and square trims are available in trim and trimless. Impression LED carries the Intense 10-year warranty.
