EdisonReport can confirm that Eric Kim is no longer the CEO at Soraa. After confirming the departure, we received the following from a company spokesman:
“Eric Kim has been instrumental in taking Soraa from its R&D stage to
commercial product deployment launching the first 2 generations of our
award winning breakthrough GaN on GaN LED MR16 lamps, securing marquis
customers and establishing the company as a well known brand in the LED
lighting industry. Having overseen the successful launch of Soraa’s
breakthrough Gen. 2 products and the SNAP system at LIGHTFAIR 2013, Eric
decided that the time was right to leave the company to pursue other
opportunities.
With the company now moving from a start-up to an established company in
the lighting industry, the Board has decided to pursue a CEO who is
intimately familiar with the lighting sector and will aggressively ramp up
Soraa sales. Until a new CEO has been chosen, Dr. Tom Caulfield will lead
the company as its President and COO.
We wish Eric the best in all of his future endeavors and commend him for
all the hard work, passion, dedication, and success that he brought to his
role as the company’s CEO.”
