The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for design, implementation, monitoring and maintaining manufacturing processes. . They consult with design engineers in order to achieve the most efficient and cost effective way of producing the highest quality product possible, must possess a high degree of self-reliance as well as strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for prioritizing tasks and managing resources to effect progressive change within the manufacturing environment.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
  • Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Uses a logical, systematic approach to solving problems through analysis and evaluation of alternate solutions.
  • Acts in a professional manner even when dealing with time demands and/or interpersonal conflict.
  • Maintains a flexible approach toward task scheduling and solution implementation
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills by clearly documenting activities and presenting information, technical content and ideas through written and verbal communications; listens well.
  • Follows through on tasks to completion.
  • Defines and prioritizes realistic, specific goals; able to complete scheduled tasks in the face of changing priorities.

Requirements:

  • Organize and maintaining work cells.
  • Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
  • Handle equipment purchase and installation.
  • Investigating operational problems affecting productivity, identifying plausible solutions in a systematic and methodical manner.
  • Planning the use of resources and scheduling activities in order to meet an objective.
  • Preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture.
  • Identifying ways to reduce production costs.
  • Working with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs.
  • Liaising with research and development departments.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors in (or equivalent) in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Technical or engineering support background
  • Minimum 3 year engineering documentation work
  • MRP/ERP, labor routings and material description documentation
  • Ability to read & understand engineering mechanical drawings.
