We currently have an opening for an Automotive Strategic Sales Leader – Western Region within our Sales group. The ideal candidate will be located in California, preferably Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Summary:
The primary purpose of the Cree Lighting Automotive Strategic Sales Leader is to initiate, develop and maintain a relationship with Automotive Dealerships, Automotive Specifiers, Agents  and distributors in the Automotive Retail market that will result in sales growth of Cree Lighting products. This position will have responsibility of working in the region, which includes delivering the LED message to Architects, Engineers and relevant stakeholders in the automotive channel, sales forecasting for the region and day-to-day sales activity in the region, involvement in RFPs, resolving problems, and developing and implementing sales plans.  Travel requirements for this position could be at times up to 60% or more.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Meet or exceed quote of Cree Product into the Automotive Segment in the Western Region.
  • Develop annual business plan supported with hard revenue targets driven around end-user development.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to independently manage various activities with minimal supervision.
  • Provide VOC and competitive analysis back to our product teams in support of this initiative.
  • Engage the Automotive community through outreach efforts, industry associations, and other marketing activities as required.
  • Maintain a new business pipeline and relentlessly pursue opportunities to broaden our footprint in the automotive market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Degree Required
  • 3-5 years general sales experience in the lighting/automotive industry
  • Computer Skills – Outlook, Excel, Internet Research and Powerpoint

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of sales experience (lighting or automotive)
  • Demonstrated history of sales/business development success
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Experience with Energy based economic analysis tools (NPV, ROI, IRR)
  • Ability to combine energy economic analysis with performance lighting design solutions
  • Ability to present at the C-Suite level
  • Familiarity with utility incentives and rebate capture process
