New Call for Better Lighting Around New York's Tappan Zee Bridge

NYACK – Increased numbers of people are calling for better lighting in the waters near the Tappan Zee Bridge after a barge came loose Sunday and drifted for about a mile down the Hudson River.

Officials say they don’t know how the 50-foot barge came loose, but they don’t believe it happened deliberately. Piermont firefighters along with a Westchester County Police boat and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Marine Unit were eventually able to corral the vessel.  Read more.
