FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — An official who oversaw thousands of roadway lights in Miami-Dade County has pleaded guilty to taking bribes from a lighting contractor.
George Brown pleaded guilty last week before a Fort Lauderdale federal judge to the bribery count. The 50-year-old Brown faces a maximum 10-year prison sentence.
