Technical Sales Support Engineer-Dickson, TN
The Technical Sales Support Engineer will support the A.L.P. Lighting Components Optical Business Unit and Sales team to increase sales and total margin through a combination of internal support and external sales calls. This will involve accompanying the sales team on prospect/customer visits, providing high-level technical expertise, building and giving demonstrations, understanding the competitive landscape and providing technical guidance during all phases of customer interaction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•The Technical Sales Support Engineer must have the technical knowledge and ability to understand injection molding, mold design, lighting and optical design and its capabilities. This ability and knowledge can be demonstrated by an engineering degree or by experience in the industry adequate to prove understanding of the process.
•The ideal candidate will possess, at a minimum, a two-year engineering or technical degree.
•Advanced Geometry and Algebra.
•Ability to calculate part weights from 2D data.
•Basic computer skills required with a proficiency in Microsoft Office, AS400 experience a plus.
•Good communication skills, self-motivated and well organized.
•Ability to work in team environment.
•Approximately 30-35% travel will be required in this role, including overnight travel.
