On April 9, 2014, AXIS Lighting announced the departure of Morris Feldman as well as two senior appointments within its Sales team. While these announcements will not lead to any changes in our day-to-day activities, we did want to share the news and take this opportunity to provide you with an update on our exciting growth plans.
A founding member of the company, Morris has made important contributions to Axis Lighting through the years as the company grew and as we built a strong and experienced management team to support our business objectives. We respect and support his decision to leave the company in order to pursue new endeavors. While he is no longer an owner, AXIS will remain a private company, owned and managed by the Feldman family and the existing management team.
In order to further enhance our sales and customer service capabilities and to better support our growing business, we also announced two senior appointments within our existing sales team. We are pleased to confirm that Michael Konczyk has been named Vice President of Sales, responsible for all sales and distribution channels. In addition, John Richardson has been appointed Director of Sales, responsible for the customer responsiveness of the project management team based in Montreal in addition to his regional sales responsibilities.
With the organization for a number of years, Michael and John have already contributed greatly to our growth and are both true ambassadors of our four key pillars: flexibility, lighting efficiency, reliable technology and customer responsiveness. We have no doubt that they will continue to ensure that we reach our business goals, while maintaining our focus on product innovation, quality and service in order to become true North American leaders in built-to-order architectural lighting.
With over 300 employees and a strong management team, we are now an important source of architectural lighting across North America, operating a state-of-the-art 125,000 square-foot manufacturing facility with on-site design, engineering and marketing staff. We are absolutely committed to continuing to successfully grow our product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities in order to meet and surpass the needs of our clients. We expect to have two significant LED product launches in 2014, which are sure to further strengthen our growing presence in the North American architectural lighting market.
