Position Description

Under the general direction of and reporting to the Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling company products, developing and securing new customers and will assist in investigating potential new product uses or applications.

Essential Function and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Grow sales and profits in new and existing Lighting Representative (Rep) territories
  2. Develop and manage a strong network of sales representatives in assigned territory
  3. Visit Reps and customers frequently, building strong relationships with Rep sales team and specifiers
  4. Regularly give well planned training and sales presentations to Rep sales team and specifiers
  5. Demonstrate and familiarize lighting representatives, customers, end users and decision makers with new products (services) and developments.
  6. Represent Wagner at both regional and national lighting shows
  7. Provide technical support to Rep sales/quotations staff for both lighting and railing products
  8. Assist in development of sales goals and targets with sales management team
  9. Work with the estimating group to prepare quotes, terms of sales, delivery dates, etc., and prepare orders subject to the company policies.
  10. Submit complaints in accordance with company policies and support the problem resolution and corrective action.
  11. Provide regular sales reports. Document sales activities in Customer Relationship Module (CRM) and supplemental reporting
  12. Share market intelligence, best practices, etc. with both Lighting Representative and Wagner sales teams
  13. Assist in development of sales and marketing collateral materials and trade shows
  14. Proactively pursue knowledge of lighting and railing products, and their markets
  15. Manage channel conflicts
  16. Develop strong relationship with internal Wagner sales support team and other Wagner departments
  17. Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other relevant field
  2. Minimum of five years’ experience in the lighting industry with strong knowledge of lighting terminology, technology and usage
  3. A minimum of seven or more years of sales experience

  5. Ability to be an advocate for both Wagner and the Lighting Representative
  6. Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications and web navigation.
  7. Self-starter, ability to work independently, multi-tasker, detail oriented
  8. Able to travel overnight 50%
