Forest Lighting Hires Radulescu to Fight TOGGLED on TLEDs

EXCLUSIVE:  MUST CREDIT EDISONREPORT.

EdisonReport has previously reported about a little known company, TOGGLED, amassing dozens of patents relating to LED lighting technology.  Two years ago we also reported that Philips, after 2 years of litigation, took a license to TOGGLED’s portfolio of over 60 patents primarily related to LED replacements for fluorescent tubes, commonly referred to as TLEDs.  As many TLED manufactures and distributors in the U.S. are well aware, TOGGLED has been very aggressive in knocking on doors requesting licensing fees to participate in the TLED market.  TOGGLED’s website indicates that it has a list of over 60 licensees

Many in the industry have questioned the legitimacy of TOGGLED’s patents and the need to pay ongoing license fees to TOGGLED on patents that many perceive to be directed to old and out-of-date technology.

This past Fall, TOGGLED filed a major lawsuit against Forest Lighting asserting infringement of eleven U.S. patents.  Forest is apparently standing up to TOGGLED and EdisonReport can now confirm that Forest has engaged Radulescu LLP — the same firm we previously reported on in connection with defending WAC Lighting in its patent battle with Philips.  David Radulescu spoke on IP Issues facing the lighting industry at LIGHTFAIR in San Diego this past Spring at a forum sponsored by EdisonReport.  The forum was a huge success and generated a lot of discussion on this timely subject.

Forest Lighting recently received a LightTrades(tm) Award from the EdisonReport for their UniV8 LED Lamp–one of the best products launched at any tradeshow in 2016.

As the LED lighting industry continues to see more aggression and litigations filed by owners of LED-related patents, Radulescu LLP has positioned itself as a key player to assist manufacturers and resellers.
