One Week Away: Radulescu LLP to Host Webinar on Patent Issues

New York, New York – Due to popular demand and the continued importance of patents to the LED industry, attorneys from Radulescu LLP will host a webinar on February 16, 2022 to discuss developments in IP litigation over the past year.  For the past five years running, David Radulescu, Ph.D., has provided a yearly update on patent issues facing the LED lighting industry. These privately-hosted meetings have been well attended by LED lighting companies interested in learning more about the increasing threat of patent litigation to their businesses.  Radulescu LLP will be hosting this year’s presentation via webinar (as we did last year).

The presentation will cover the following topics:

  1. Recent Trends in U.S. Patent Litigation in the LED Industry.
  2. The LED Patent Litigation Landscape: Who Is Suing and Who Is Being Sued.
  3. Update on the Philips/Signify EnabLED Licensing Program
    1. 1,300 Licensees and counting.
    2. Signify drops appeal of its ITC loss and settled with Axis Lighting.
    3. Signify filed suit in three different market segments: Satco (Commercial & Residential Lighting), Robe Lighting (Entertainment Lighting) and Kind LED Grow Lights (Horticulture Lighting).
  4. Status of other LED Industry licensing programs, including Lynk Labs (26 active matters involving Home Depot and Samsung), CAO Lighting (7 active suits), University of California (loss) and Lighting Science Group (now bankrupt).
  5. Non-Practicing Entity Update: Bench Walk Lighting (2 of 5 cases still active), Heavy Duty Lighting (2 of 4 cases still active), LedComm LLC (3 of 10 cases still active) and LED Wafer Solutions LLC (1 case active).
