Reid to Publish NALMCO’s LM&M Magazine

May 16, 2022–The Board of Directors for NALMCO has named Randy Reid as the new Editor and Publisher of LM&M magazine. Randy is uniquely qualified for this position as he is the publisher and editor of the EdisonReport, editor of designing lighting (dl) magazine, and the Executive Director of the National Lighting Bureau (NLB).  He was also the past president of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).

Randy and his team have been tasked to re-engineer LM&M which will be published digitally every other month.  The magazine will maintain many existing columns but also add new content such as:

  • Before & After: A deep dive case study into a retrofit project that will contrast different equipment, energy savings, rebates, and before and after pictures
  • Up Close: an interview with one of our members that focuses on best practices
  • What’s New: an examination of new products of value to our organization
  • Key Topics: Timely articles on lighting maintenance & management issues
  • Utility News: Utility Rebate News and DLC qualifications

The refreshed LM&M will focus on the business aspect of Lighting Maintenance and Management and provide a spotlight on our organization and its member companies.

Cliff Smith is the new national advertising director for LM&M. He brings to the table 20+ years’ experience of lighting industry media experience. This includes Architectural Lighting (AL) and ARCHITECT (official magazine of the AIA) magazines. He is also publisher of designing lighting (dl).

The next issue will be July. The main feature story will be Retrofits Don’t Just Save Energy, Now They Can Improve Health.”  Norma Frank, of Colorado Lighting, will be featured in the “Up Close” Column.
