The Plaintiffs: Jiaxing Super Lighting Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. and Obert, Inc. (collectively “Super Lighting”)

The Defendants: CH Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., Shaoxing Ruising Lighting Co., Ltd. (collectively “CH”), and Elliott Electric Supply, Inc. (Elliott)

On March 17, 2023, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas (CASE NO. 6:20-CV-00018-ADA) entered a final judgment in favor of Super Lighting against its rival competitors for infringing certain LED tube lamp products. The Court granted Super Lighting a total of USD 31.58 million in damages.

Following this favorable judgment, Super Lighting promptly sought to enforce the verdict, initiating the process to register the judgment for enforcement with the District Court. The Defendants, including CH Lighting and Ruising, countered by filing a cross-motion to stay the enforcement, which was denied by the Court on January 26, 2024. The Defendants were also required to post a bond which they failed to do so.

With the Court’s decision, Super Lighting can now proceed with the enforcement against CH Lighting and Ruising’s account receivables from their customers across various states. The enforcement of the judgment enables Super Lighting to collect damages arising from the sales of any products distributed by these Defendants. This legal victory is a significant milestone for Super Lighting in their ongoing legal battle against their competitors.
