Factory Direct Sales Representative – Prudential Lighting

As we continue to innovate our product line and grow our business, Prudential Ltg. is looking to expand our factory direct salesforce in the Southern California territory. We are seeking an eager and self-directed individual with lighting industry outside sales or lighting design experience to join our team as a Factory Direct Sales Representative.


Reports to: General Manager

Location: Southern California

Position Overview:

The Factory Direct Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales goals by acquiring, developing, and retaining customer relationships. They must be able to confidently leverage their expertise in lighting and control systems and possess and maintain in-depth product knowledge to close sales.

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Strategically work with both agents and existing specifiers to generate revenue
  • Proactively and regularly source opportunities to develop new accounts
  • Use relationship building skills to increase penetration with existing accounts
  • Provide product demonstrations and prepare compelling proposals to show value proposition to confidently and knowledgeably present new products; highlighting their features and benefits
  • Effectively and efficiently field and resolve all customer inquires and requests regarding products, pricing and technical modifications
  • Identify and resolve technical questions
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to support client needs and close sales deals

  • Maintain a strong sense of self direction to work remotely and manage all sales role responsibilities

Job Requirements

  • ·Minimum five years of experience within the lighting industry, three years outside sales &/or working as a lighting designer experience preferred
  • Current knowledge of and relationships with local specification community is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook

Compensation Package Information

Below is a reasonable compensation estimate. This estimate is inclusive of a wide range of factors considered when making compensation decisions; including but not limited to industry experience, work history and length thereof, education level and area of expertise, and organizational and business needs,

A reasonable estimate of the current compensation package is $80,000-$100,000 base salary plus commission.
