Specification Sales Manager – Keystone

The Opportunity:

The Specification Sales Manager fosters relationships within the commercial lighting sector and collaborates with key stakeholders. This role demands a deep understanding of lighting products, specifications and industry trends. The Specification Sales Manager will call on and build strong relationships with commercial architecture firms, lighting designers, contractors, interior designers, developers, design/build professionals and commercial end users. They will provide tailored solutions, oversee project execution, and actively participate in industry events. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, prepare insightful sales reports, and implement effective sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calls on and builds strong relationships with commercial architectural firms, lighting designers, contractors, interior designers, developers, design/build professionals, and commercial end-users
  • Collaborates with clients to understand their lighting requirements and provide customized solutions
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of lighting products, specifications, and industry standards
  • Provides technical support and lighting training to clients and internal teams
  • Oversees successful execution of lighting projects
  • Participates in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and showcase products
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer service and most importantly, other Keystone sales personnel
  • Prepares regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and key metrics
  • Analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Provides insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making
  • Develops and implements effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of lighting industry experience required
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience required
  • Experience working at a lighting agency preferred
  • Experience building out a team
  • A proven drive for sales excellence and growth
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong account leadership and analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation, technical/computer, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable with travel: Moderate to regular travel of approximately 50% on average, which may have peaks: ~50%
