Visiting the DALI Alliance stand at Light + Building on Monday morning was an enlightening experience for me. The unveiling of the DALI+ with Thread wireless standard by the DALI Alliance showcased a glimpse into the future of lighting technology. Engaging with the DALI Alliance team, I discovered the cutting-edge specifications, including IP-based solutions and a collaboration with Thread for enhanced security and encryption.
Monday afternoon, Paul Drosihn stopped by our studio for a quick visit.
DALI+ operates as a wireless mesh network, allowing over 254 systems per Thread system, providing extensive IP addressing support. The flexibility of DALI+ stood out as it allows the connection of DALI-2 wired luminaries or systems through the DALI+ bridge.
Peering into the future, the potential integration of emergency lighting, dimmers, 0/1-10V controls, and color controls into DALI+ systems hinted at an expansive ecosystem.
Late on Monday, I attended a well-attended reception at their booth.
