March 18, 2024, New York, NY—At LEDucation, held at the Hilton Midtown on March 19th& 20th, the Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education will have an information booth set up in the lobby of the Americas Hall.  Board members will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions and discuss the important role that the Nuckolls Fund plays in lighting education.

The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education fundraiser  embodies the spirit of investment through a novel and engaging concept: the ‘Giving Wheel.’ Spinning wheels are usually used for personal gain, but the Nuckolls Giving Wheel flips this notion on its head. Participants aren’t spinning to win; they’re spinning to give–it’s a wheel of fortune for philanthropy.

Each click of the wheel is a step towards advancing education in lighting design, as participants land on amounts not to pocket, but to pledge. With options ranging from $10 to $100, every spin translates into a tangible contribution to the Nuckolls Fund, underpinning vital educational programs that shape the future luminaries of the lighting industry.

As the wheel turns, so does the tide of opportunity for aspiring lighting professionals, thanks to the spirited generosity of each participant.

The Giving Wheel becomes more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of our industry’s commitment to our own future.

About the Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education:

The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education was established in 1988 to support college-level lighting programs that enable students to learn, appreciate, and apply the basics of lighting and design.

Each year, the Fund solicits proposals from colleges and universities for innovative educational ideas that will inspire students with an understanding of light in architecture. Submissions are evaluated by the Fund’s Board of Directors, which includes people from a cross section of the lighting industry as well as the academic community. The Fund has been awarding grants in support of lighting programs since 1989.
