Prizm Lighting to Exit Specification Market; Become a Brand of American Lighting
EdisonReport has learned that Prizm Lighting plans to exit the specification market. Yesterday, we spoke with Jennifer Kirkpatrick, the Director of Sales at American Lighting. She explained that they will refocus their efforts on their core business model.
We discussed the competition and the long sales cycle in the specification market. We also discussed the frustration of having specifications broken at the last minute. Your humble editor had the opportunity to review an email Jennifer sent to reps, informing them of the decision. In that email, she wrote, “I’m writing to inform you of a strategic decision that has been made concerning the future of Prizm Lighting. After careful consideration, we have decided to exit the specification market and refocus our efforts on our core business model.” She added that despite their efforts, they have faced intense competition and have not achieved the growth anticipated.
