Elco Lighting, a leader in specification-grade residential and commercial LED downlighting, has welcomed back industry veteran Steve Schwartz. He returns to his role as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Schwartz previously held this position from 2001 to 2011. During that time, he was instrumental in Elco’s growth, helping position the company as one of the largest providers of downlighting and track lighting. Now, he will collaborate with company principals Steve Cohen and Brandon Cohen to elevate Elco’s status as a manufacturer of high-quality products.

Schwartz is excited about Elco’s current products. “Frankly, I’m blown away by what the team has done with their modular downlight systems,” he says. “The Koto System offers thousands of combinations. A Career Rooted in Lighting
Schwartz began his career as a regional factory sales representative for Juno Lighting. His passion for precision luminaires and their ability to create dramatic lighting effects drives his work. “After leaving Elco, I ventured into commercial lighting and ESCO sales. But my love for the art of lighting never faded,” he says. “Quality lighting fixtures, when used correctly, make a tremendous impact.”
Returning to Elco
For Schwartz, returning to Elco feels like coming home. Steve Cohen, who founded Elco Lighting 35 years ago, gave him his first opportunity to manage sales and marketing on a national level. “Steve has always been passionate about people and about providing lighting designers with the solutions they need,” Schwartz recalls. “We worked well together and stayed close over the years.”

Schwartz also praised the leadership of Brandon Cohen. “From product design and engineering to marketing, order processing, and tech support, Brandon has elevated everything,” Schwartz adds. “He’s also built a first-class team of regional sales managers.
