The EdisonReport recently received the sad news of the passing of Keith Johnson.
Richard Stellar shared,
Keith Johnson, the architectural lighting industry’s visionary 3D product and application design artist whose work inspired a generation of marketing communication designers, passed away this weekend in Los Angeles. Keith and I came up the ranks together, following Jack Zukerman from CSL to RSA Lighting, then following our own muses as he went to Cooper Industries and became a highly valued asset in numerous established lighting manufacturers and start-ups, and I worked with Sy and Rob Gerber at GM Lighting.I have so many Keith stories. He kept me laughing for the last 40 years. He was a devoted father to Lucy and Sammy. And wow, could he shred on guitar. He had a punk/glam rock group in the seventies that featured a pompous and self-absorbed lead singer named Lion, who would send us into fits of hysterical laughter. I hope Lion’s not a lighting rep, reading this now.
If you knew Keith, please send me your memories. I’ll give it to his kids. [email protected]
Rest in power dear friend.
