LMPG Will Have No Tariff Price Increases, Regardless of the Outcome of Tariff Negotiations
LMPG has reaffirmed its commitment to tariff price stability, assuring agents that ongoing Canadian tariff discussions will not lead to price increases. Your humble editor spoke to François-Xavier Souvay, Founder and Executive Chairman of LMPG, Inc., who confirmed that LMPG’s Canadian brands—Fluxwerx, Lumenpulse, PACO, and Lumca—will not raise prices, even if Canadian tariffs are imposed. He emphatically stated, “There will be no price change related to proposed tariffs between Canada and USA for all brands.”
F-X further reminded me that LMPG has very little exposure to China and therefore, Chinese tariffs will not impact current pricing as well. He stated, “Since we have significantly invested in our U.S. manufacturing operations, we are in a very good position to provide stability for our agents, distributors, and specifiers.”
Status of Canadian Tariffs
On 1 February 2025, President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on Canadian imports. This included a 10% tariff on Canadian energy products. The tariffs were set to take effect on 4 February. After negotiations, the U.S. and Canada agreed to delay implementation by 30 days. Talks are ongoing, but the outcome remains uncertain.
