Cooper Lighting Solutions’ Tariff Plan: Mitigating Potential Disruptions to Ongoing Projects

Cooper Lighting Solutions has sent a message to their representatives outlining their tariff plan.  In the letter signed by Eric Jerger, VP/GM and  Joe Melchiors, EVP Sales, Cooper acknowledges that they are preparing for different scenarios.  As EdisonReport has reported in previous articles, the administration has imposed an additional 10% tariff on goods from China. Cooper will absorb that as they “are not immediately raising prices.”

Orders placed between now and 31 MAR for immediate shipment will not have any price increase.  Cooper will provide further communication if Canada and Mexico tariffs to go into effect on 4 MAR.  Personally, your humble editor does not believe those tariffs will happen.  Joe and Eric also state in their letter that products that do not have components from China, Mexico or Canada will not be impacted.

They end the letter stating their goal is to offer competitive pricing while mitigating any potential disruptions to ongoing projects.
