San’an and Inari to Acquire 100% of Lumileds Holding B.V.
Deal Signals Major Shift in Global LED and Semiconductor Industry
San’an Optoelectronics and Inari Amertron Berhad have reached a definitive agreement to acquire all shares of Lumileds Holding B.V., including its European and Asian subsidiaries—collectively known as Lumileds International.
Lumileds, headquartered in the Netherlands, leads the global LED market. It serves a wide range of sectors including automotive, display, mobile, and general illumination. The company employs about 3,300 people across more than 15 countries.
Steve Barlow, CEO of Lumileds International, welcomed the news. “This transaction marks the next step in our transformation,” he said. “As the LED industry continues to evolve and mature, I believe Lumileds International will thrive and grow even faster under new ownership.”
The companies expect to complete the deal in the first quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval and other closing conditions.
This acquisition brings together three major players in lighting and semiconductors. By combining expertise in LED manufacturing, system integration, and semiconductor testing, the new ownership structure aims to boost vertical integration and global competitiveness. Notably, this could strengthen their position in high-performance and automotive lighting markets.
EdisonReport will continue to monitor developments as the deal progresses.
