Outside Sales- Lighting (Northern California Region)

Well-established lighting sales agency with exceptional line-card is seeking a driven, outside sales professional to grow sales in the Northern California region. Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of inside/outside sales experience with an electrical distributor, lighting manufacturer or agency, and thrive on hunting for opportunities, developing deep working relationships with clients, and closing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building: Identify, engage, and build relationships with specifiers, contractors, and end-customers.
  • Product Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of our line card, including features like ease of installation, control systems, and quality of light.
  • Market Expansion: Increase the visibility of our solutions in target regions and positioning us as the preferred choice for projects.
  • Project Tracking: Track ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring a competitive edge in bidding opportunities.
  • Performance Metrics: Meet key performance indicators, such as new contacts identified, number of touches per customer, relationships established, and new projects won.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary + Bonus: Compensation based on new relationships, contacts established, and projects won. Bonus opportunities for exemplary performance.

  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel within assigned territory, with flexibility to manage schedule for optimal client engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an inside/outside sales capacity.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the lighting industry.
  • Experience with lighting specifiers (electrical engineers, architects, landscape architects, lighting consultants).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Comfortable delivering tailored, enthusiastic presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Familiar with CRM systems and capable of cultivating professional business relationships.
