ETC Acquires Pharos

ETC has taken a decisive step toward shaping the next era of architectural lighting control with the acquisition of longtime collaborator Pharos Architectural Controls. Pharos is a UK-based developer and manufacturer of dynamic lighting control systems used in architectural, themed entertainment, and large-scale visual installations.

This investment builds on more than two decades of collaboration between ETC and Pharos. Over its 21-year history, Pharos has earned a reputation for innovation, reliability, and customer-first service. That commitment has played a central role in the evolution of ETC’s architectural lighting portfolio.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

As the designer and manufacturer behind ETC’s Mosaic product family, Pharos has long shared ETC’s culture of agile development, exceptional support, and product excellence. As a result, the two companies have worked closely to deliver advanced control solutions to designers and specifiers worldwide.

ETC CEO Dick Titus commented, “We look forward to growing our long-standing partnership with Pharos. Their in-house development team continues to push the boundaries of dynamic lighting control and their work will further strengthen ETC’s offerings in the global architectural lighting market.”

Expanding Global Reach and Market Opportunity

In addition, Pharos brings an extensive market presence and a robust sales network across EMEA and APAC. This global footprint positions ETC for accelerated growth in key international markets. The highly respected Pharos brand provides a complementary platform for ETC. As a result, it helps broaden ETC’s reach and strengthen its architectural control strategy worldwide.

Importantly, Pharos will continue to operate as a stand alone company. All existing sales and service relationships will remain unchanged. Likewise, Pharos will maintain its established supply and licensing partnerships.

A New Chapter for Pharos

Pharos CEO Simon Hicks said, “This is an exciting new chapter for Pharos and a fantastic opportunity for the team and our product portfolio. ETC provides a long-term home for the company, ensuring continuity of service for our customers. At the same time, we can now tap into a wealth of resources to accelerate our ambitious product development roadmap.”

Looking Ahead

Ultimately, ETC sees this acquisition as a strong foundation for future innovation. By combining Pharos’ technical expertise, global reach, and customer focused approach with ETC’s scale and support infrastructure, the company is strengthening its global capabilities. As a result, ETC aims to deliver even greater value to clients around the world.

EdisonReport Editor’s Note:
ETC’s acquisition of Pharos Architectural Controls formalizes a relationship that has quietly underpinned ETC’s Mosaic product family for over two decades — making this less a new partnership than a structural consolidation of an already deeply integrated collaboration. Pharos is well regarded in the architectural, themed entertainment, and large-scale installation markets for its dynamic lighting control systems, and brings with it an established sales and service network across EMEA and APAC that significantly extends ETC’s international footprint beyond its traditional entertainment and theatrical strongholds. Pharos will continue operating independently under CEO Simon Hicks, preserving the brand identity and customer relationships that have made it a trusted name among lighting designers and system integrators globally.
