EdisonReport is sad to report the passing of Larry Bloch last night.
OEM Lighting Sales, Inc. has emerged from Bloch Aluminum, which served as a manufacturer’s representative for over three decades in the OEM lighting market. During this time, they represented renowned companies like Alanod Aluminum and Sumitomo Metals. Larry Bloch and George Dieckmann joined forces to establish OEM Lighting Sales, aiming to address the growing demands of the luminaire manufacturing market, with a particular focus on energy-saving and life safety fixture-mounted products.
Upon receiving news from George that he would be honored with the 2023 EdisonReport Lifetime Achievement Award, Larry expressed his delight by stating, “That is the best news I have heard all year.” Sadly, due to his illness, he was unable to attend the celebratory event held in May during LightFair.
