Specialty Lighting Industries – Regional Sales Manager

Looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Regional Sales Manager. Specialty Lighting is a NY/NJ based Company celebrating 30 years of innovation. Our company designs and manufactures award-winning architectural lighting products. As an industry-leading creative company, we are looking for a motivated and driven Regional Sales Manager with a proven record of success in driving sales revenue and generating business.

Essential Function and Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will control success by driving revenue through proactively building and growing strategic relationships with existing and new agents, specifiers, and the lighting community at large in the assigned territories.

  • Actively promote company products to sales partners and design community.
  • Collaborate with representatives to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Manage sales activities with visits and communications to ensure market penetration.
  • Regularly give well prepared training and sales presentations to Rep sales team and specifiers
  • Demonstrate current products, new products, services and developments to customers, end users and decision makers.
  • Represent Company at both regional and national lighting shows.
  • Provide technical and field support.
  • Assist in defining sales goals/targets and actively evaluate progress toward achievement of goals.
  • Provide regular sales reports: Follow up and project pipeline: Develop long-term sales forecasts: report and update data regularly.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships within the markets and the organization.
  • Share market intelligence, best practices, and competitive landscape
  • Assist in development of marketing collateral and trade show presence.
  • Proactively pursue knowledge of lighting products, technologies, and their markets.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field
  • Specification lighting sales experience from either a manufacturer or Outside Specification Sales from a representative

  • Knowledge of current lighting technology, applications, and standards.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications and web navigation.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently, multi-tasker, detail oriented.
  • Able to travel overnight 50% (12-15 days/month)
