Howard Yaphe Named CEO of Axis Lighting

Axis Lighting announces the appointment of Howard Yaphe as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 22, 2011. Howard joins Axis Lighting owners Morris and Joseph Feldman, to form the company’s new leadership team. 


Howard is an outstanding and experienced lighting industry executive with over 22 years of experience at Canlyte, now a division of Philips Lighting North America. Howard began his lighting career as General Manager of the CFI Fluorescent operation, rising to Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Development for all of Canlyte. In past years Howard led the Philips North America Research and development effort for LED luminaire technologies in Office, Industry and Healthcare segments.

Howard Yaphe holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, serves on the Canadian Smart Net-zero Energy Buildings strategic Research Network, and is fluent in French and English.
