EXCLUSIVE: MUST CREDIT EDISONREPORT. EdisonReport has learned that both Valmont and Lutron have announced price increases. The issue, we are told, has to do with the price of commodities. During COVID, many manufacturers have cut back on supply, so as the economy begins to ramp up, supplies are in short supply which is a perfect opportunity for a price increase.
Valmont provided a notice of price increase of up to 8% effective January 4, 2021.
Lutron is implementing the adjustments effective January 15, 2021 for the following:
- 2.4% on average: Caseta; wallbox dimmers; sensors
- 5% on average: Ballasts
- No increases: Shading products; Residential lighting control products
Iron ore is up 25% since the start of November to a seven-year high on Chinese demand. Copper prices are also experience a seven-year high.
