Leviton Introduces New ZigbeeTM 3.0 Controlled Receptacle

New receptacle provides wireless plug load control and meets IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and 2019 Title 24, Part 6 code compliance

Melville, N.Y., September 21, 2021 – Leviton today introduced a new ZigbeeTM 3.0 Controlled Receptacle. The Zigbee Controlled Receptacle (ZSTLR-1HW) is compatible with a Leviton Wireless Room Controller or third-party Zigbee 3.0 compatible hub, gateway or controller to provide wireless ON/OFF plug load control. It can be used with lamps, appliances and similar devices up to 15A in wireless applications requiring receptacle control or plug load control to meet energy code compliance.

“The Zigbee 3.0 Controlled Receptacle delivers an exciting addition to our commercial wireless lighting control line,” said Tom Leonard, vice president of controls at Leviton. “It eliminates the pain point of pulling new wires to meet IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and 2019 Title 24, Part 6 energy code requirements for receptacle control or plug load control. Users can easily install the Receptacle in place of traditional wall receptacles and use the App to complete configuration.”

Zigbee uses mesh networking technology to provide quick, reliable, and secure communication. The Zigbee Controlled Receptacle is Zigbee 3.0 certified and requires a Leviton room controller to operate. It works in conjunction with the GreenMAX DRC Wireless Keypad Room Controller, Lumina RF Wireless Keypad Room Controller, or a Zigbee 3.0 compatible hub, gateway or controller with proper integration.

The top outlet on the Receptacle is always on, and the bottom outlet is controlled. Receptacle control strategies use occupancy sensing or schedule-based control to energize and de- energize a controlled receptacle based on occupancy or time of day. There is also an LED light that indicates when the controlled switch is on or off.

The Zigbee Controlled Receptacle is tamper-resistant (TR) and meets the 2020 NEC code requirement. The Receptacle can be used as a component in a system to meet energy code requirements for IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and 2019 Title 24, Part 6 space/area control, dimming, manual-ON/OFF, occupancy/vacancy control and automatic shutoff requirements.
