EdisonReport has received the below infographic from an OSRAM employee stating, “All the relevant antitrust authorities have given their approval and ams has paid our shareholders…the takeover has now been completed.”
However, we are also told that ams now owns 70%; ams is simply the largest share holder. We are further told that ams needs to acquire a total of 75% before it is recognized as the owner of OSRAM and to have full control. As of today, it is still business as usual.
Ams is approximately four times smaller than OSRAM. From the bidding war, to the antitrust approvals, to the missed dates, the entire process has been confusing and disjointed. Even the closing of the deal is unclear.
